I’m Zaharoula. I was born in the mountains. One day they took me to the city. They put me nice clothes, brushed my hair, got me educated, turned me into a civilized human.
“You have to get married, take care of your husband, have kids, become a good housewife, nurture the elders,” I was told.
And so I did. But all I really wanted was to go back to my home in the mountains.
Now I am old, my hair is white and my feet can’t run fast.
But I swear this: one day I will get back home.
